View-Topia Palm Springs

This project involved the client purchasing an existing vacation rental property that lacked a great deal of pizzazz and functionality. So they contacted us to get the place up to scratch and ensure it had thumb-stopping power on the short term rental platforms.

The living area was overly neutral, had insuffiecnt seating and failed to excite. Our vision was to “let the sunshine in” and so went with some warm tones to bring in that sunny disposition that a Palm Springs vacation home should portray. This involved a new yellow lounge setting with a 3-seater, 2-seater and arm chair. We also transformed the raw cement brick wall by painting it white to work in better with the tiled fireplace, while also reducing the indoor “grey” factor.

Over at the kitchen counter, we introduced some bright orange chrome-trimmed stools which worked in nicely with the bright yellow glass pendant lighting, and also the wall art in the dining area.

Outside the formerly red entrance portico columns and front door were painted yellow, which gave a more cohesive look and set the scene perfectly for that all-important first impression.

The adjacent pool area also received a refresh with new sun lounges, yellow umbrellas, white dining table with yellow chairs, and also a grey upholstered conversation set supplemented with yellow-and-white striped throw pillows. The fire pit did not miss out either, gaining a full set of 6 rocking metal chairs for those crisp winter nights.

Although nor a full makeover, all involved were thrilled with the little bit of stardust we sprinkled that made a large difference and helped to improve the occupancy of the property.
