A rather neutral-styled home was needing some finishing touches along with a large helping of pizzazz to break it out of the everyday, and that’s where we entered the scene.

Starting at the entrance, we added some tall blush pink table lamps that worked nicely to frame the bamboo-styled mirror. Then in the main living area, gold side tables and slick and shiny blue lamps with gold trim complimented the striking curved sofa with its gold base. A new multicolored abstract painting was commissioned to act as the centerpiece for the room, and was then flanked by tall black concrete planters with large palms to add an appealling organic element to the mix.

Over in the kitchen, a small meals area was created with a cute mid-century dining set carrying the blue theme through, while the wood finish matched well with the old school family portrait hanging above. Meanwhile, the metallic gold wallpaper of the bar area was complimented with glass shelving to create additional display space.

The separate TV area’s dark theme lent it a theater feel, carried through via the gold domed lighting sitting atop pyramid-inspired side tables that enabled speakers to be placed under them. The additional splash of color here came courtesy of the large orange ottoman that tied in with the similarly colored wall art.

The second bedroom received the benefit of a blue and blush pink wallpaper print, working in nicely with the navy bed and the wooden midcentury style nightstands, lamps and work desk with matching chair.

Over in the master bedroom, a pinkish-red palm-inspired pattern wallpaper was added which provided just the right level of verve to the otherwise neutral room, while working well with the red wall art and wooden nightstands.

The owners were thrilled with the overall result, providing a perfect balance between an upbeat and colorful aesthetic, while maintaining a sophisticated and upmarket feel.
