Pink Loft LA
The brief for this Downtown Los Angeles apartment was simple… “Pink!”. Belonging to a high profile social media influencer and model, the idea was to create not just a girl-inspired pink oasis, but a glam and upmarket environment that could act as a residence, a workspace, and as a photoshoot location that presents the perfect backdrop for photos, videos and online streaming.
So the first decision was to eliminate the olive colored feature walls in both the living areas and bedroom, achieved with a bright tropical wallpaper print in the bedroom, which was complimented by the pink leafy shower curtain in the adjacent bathroom.
In the living area, a silky blush pink paper was hung behind the lounge and modern looking desk. The desk not only served as a large workspace, but could also be utilized as a dining table to present a more formal option in addition to the pink stools we placed at the kitchen counter. In the kitchen, we went so far as to source the pink appliances as well as the crockery, flatware, saucepans and utensils which all tied in with our chosen color palette.
In the lounge, the media console and coffee table echoed the look of the desk, possessing the same glossy white, modern and squared off look, with LED lighting illuminating the lucite chess set under the TV. Above the TV, the wall art reflected the proud heritage of our client, as did the other art chosen to display, while the indoor palms pre-empt what awaits on the balcony…
For the exterior, the concept called for a cute garden party feel, achieved through the artificial grass we laid down, the festive string lighting on the glass ballustrade, and the cute pink conversation set. A fire column was included for the cold winter nights so it’s possible to sit in that swinging egg chair and take in those impressive DTLA skyline views all year round.
