Movie Colony Modern
Just like life, design can often be all about balance! And so that was the case with this mid century modern home in the historic Movie Colony neighborhood that combined a clean, modern and neutral-toned luxurious remodel with some fun and colorful furniture to create a vacation home with wide reaching appeal.
Warm oranges and yellows were chosen for one bedroom, while a second enjoyed a combination of bright green and blush pink, with wall art in their respective bathrooms also carrying these themes through. Meanwhile the master enjoyed a cool grey palette, well balanced by the multi-colored artwork showcased above the bed between the hanging pendant lighting.
The living area had its neutral tones supplemented by pops of blue, chosen to tie this area into the adjacent yard with pool. Large format, classic Slim Aarons poolside photography was also chosen for the walls, working well to also bring those blue tones to the fore.
Continuing the blue theme, the poolside furniture included blue and white striped umbrellas and lumbar pillows, as well as bright blue glazed side tables that worked in superbly with the cool grey exterior. The result was a perfect balance between a slick and modern feel, and a good helping of retro-style fun to deliver something for everyone!
